Springwell Running Club - Press Release – January 26th
This week saw Springwell RC members competing at the NI & Ulster Intermediate Cross Country Championships at Gosford Park in Armagh, St Patricks 5 & 10k in Dungiven and there was even representation at the Dubai Marathon in the United Arab Emirates.
Dubai Marathon
The Dubai Marathon took place on the 24th January and, as expected the heat added an extra dimension to an already challenging event. The 2283 marathon finishers were spared the worst of the heat as the organisers started the race at 6.30am but even that didn’t negate the need for a bit of sun factor for the vast majority of the finishers as the early morning sun quickly increased the temperature. Representing Springwell RC, James Evans finished 937th in a time of 4.22.37.
