Springwell Running Club - Press Release – September 15th 2019
The 20th Gig ‘n’ the Bann Cross Community Music and Dance Festival took place between 12th and 15th September 2019 in Portglenone Village. The festival is one of the major events of the Summer Festival Calendar and as well as offering an impressive line-up of singers and dancers there was also some racing to be done.
The festivals popular 5k road race took place on Thursday 12th September and, as always it produced the highest standard of competition with Mark McKinstry (North Belfast Harriers) producing another impressive performance to win in a time of 15.28. In the lady’s race, after a brief summer break, Ciara Toner (Springwell RC) continued her winning ways, claiming victory in 18.08.

Copenhagen Half Marathon
On their travels this weekend Andrew Kincaid and Stacey Montgomery joined 25,000 other runners as they represented Springwell RC in the Copenhagen Half Marathon in Denmark. Andrew finished 19082nd with a time of 2.14.58 and Stacey was 22726th in 3.09.18.
