Tollymore Trail Marathon (16/11/19)
Hills, glorious hills!
The Tollymore Trail Marathon in Co. Down is an event which packed plenty of hills for the Springwell Runners who made the journey down.
Located in Tollymore Forest Park, the event provides competitors with a choice of distances with a 10km, Half Marathon, Marathon and the 40mile Ultra Marathon.
Weather for the days events were almost perfect on a cool and crisp day.
Starting at 8.00am the 40mileUltra Marathon was the first event onto the course with 3 Springwell RC members taking on the challenge.
Ultra Results:
11th – David McGaffin 5:50:36; 14th – Dale Corbett 6:09:24; 44th – James Evens 7:30:29
The Marathon saw 2 Springwell Runners take on the distance with Christ Denton taking home the overall 1st place.

The largest contingent of Springwellers was in the half marathon distance, with 17 runners taking on the challenge.

The last event to start on the day was the 10k.
In the 10k race, Judith Buchanan was our sole representative. At only her second attempt racing the 10k distance, Judith came home as 3rd placed lady.

Born2Run: Run Forest Run Drum Manor (16/11/19)
The second event in the Run Forest Run series, saw Drum Manor in Cookstown play backdrop. This event had on offer either a 5k or a 10k route.
5 Springwell Runners were in attendance for this event with 3 taking on the 10k and 2 were taking on the 5k.
10k Results:
72nd – Paul Quinn 48:42; 114th – Paul Humphreys 53:30; 221st: Rebecca Clarke 1:04:51
5k Results:
83rd – Zara Hunter 35:39; 89th – Gemma Craig 1:04:51
EAMS Woodburn Forest Marathon (13/11/19)
East Antrim Marathon Series continued on Wednesday with the Woodburn Marathon in Carrickfergus.
Springwell RC had two runners take on the midweek marathon.
Ali Shaw finished 4th overall in 4:08:29.
Helena Dornan was 1st lady home, 7th overall, in 4:16:41.
British & Irish Masters Cross Country International (16/11/19)
On Saturday, Gerry O’Doherty and Alex Brennan took a trip across to Aintree for the British & Irish Masters Cross Country International.
Race 3: M5-0 – M60 (8k)
66th – Gerry O’Doherty 33:44
Race 4: M35 – M45 (8k)
84th – Alex Brennan 29:49
