Springwell Running Club - Press Release – July 21st 2019

It’s been a busy weekend for Springwell RC as members took part in events in Glenullin, Newcastle, Cookstown, Dublin and London with a selection of podium places, age category places and personal bests to show for their efforts.

Glenullin 5 & 10k

After an afternoon of heavy rain the showers abated long enough to allow the Glenullin 5 & 10k races to get underway in almost perfect running conditions on Friday 19th July.  Starting at Glenullin GAC the course took the 162 competitors on a challenging, undulating course along the country roads surrounding Glenullin Village.

 South Dublin 10k

The Dream Run Dublin team is a group of ten runners, selected each year by Olympian Paul Pollock to be coached with a view to achieving a personal best time at the Dublin Marathon.  One of the 2019 team is Springwell RC’s Ryan Galway who has been receiving the benefit of Paul’s experience since the 15th May and it certainly seems to be paying dividends.  At the Dublin South 10k on Sunday 21st July Ryan produced a personal best time of 36.08 to finish 31st.
