Parkrun Roundup

New Years Eve

The High tide on New Year’s Eve forced the start/finish line further along the beach but apart from that, conditions were ok considering the time of year.

Jan Watson and Catherine Byers were congratulated on reaching 50 parkruns and Emma Birrell on reaching 100.

First finisher was Leon Foster of Leeds City AC,  in 18.51 - first appearance and first lady was Karen McLaughlin  (16th overall)  in 21.48 - 38th time in 91 appearances

This week there were 259 runners, of whom 56 were first timers and 12 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 28 different athletics clubs took part.

Conditions were perfect for Saturdays Portrush parkrun, there was a low tide and barely a breeze.

Fiona Walls was congratulated on completing her 100th parkrun.

First finisher was Chris Denton  in 18.21 - 45th time in 126 appearances and first lady was Gemma Turley  in 20.12 - 24th time in 28 appearances.

This week there were 155 runners, of whom 20 were first timers and 32 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 9 different athletics clubs took part.
